Bristol Media Masterclass – Engagement Key to Growth

Our very own Harry Oram attended the Bristol Media Masterclass yesterday where speakers from some of the South West’s leading businesses presented insight into latest trends and innovations that impact the world of marketing as well focussing on the detail.

The full line up included: Philip Cheek (SEO specialist agency Smart Traffic), Irfon Watkins (Coull), Brian Mansfield (Taxi Studios), Richard Irvine (Aspect Film and Video), Ed Culliford (PPC agency Search Star), Griff Holland (Friska Foods), James Trezona (Harte Hanks / Mason Zimbler), Tom Harding (Osborne Clarke), Michael Agnew (Future Foundation), James Robertson (Bray Leino), Jonathon Gaunt (FD Works), Gemma Coles & Emma Pengelly (Mubaloo) and Leigh Abbosh (Dyson).

Each presentation informed and engaged the audience with specific sector knowledge, from effective PPC creation to staying compliant in today’s ever growing social channels through to a mobile app master class.

The day was brilliant, the quality of presentations top notch with real expertise coming through. The discussion point that really struck a chord with ADLIB was the opening panel discussion from Smart Traffic, Aspect Film and Video, Coull and Taxi Studios.

The focus of conversation turned to the challenge of attracting the right employees and retaining them in a competitive market place. Smart Traffic now have in excess of 200 employees, Coull’s ranks are swelling in Bristol and California (next stop New York), whilst Aspect Film & Video employ 29 people with the support of an extensive freelancer bank, significant growth since this time last year. Impressive stuff.

And the key to this growth, employee value and engagement. Coull actively recruit people who crave responsibility, who ask for it, inventing ways in which their skills can be utilised. Smart Traffic reward employees with overseas trips whilst Taxi Studios adopt a mantra of rewarding fearlessness as part of their brand ethos. All of which are great examples of employee engagement and buy in.

Congratulations to Bristol Media and all yesterday’s speakers for such a brilliant event. The ADLIB team are proud to be official partners.
