The business is constantly trying to find new and innovative ways of working and this role will play an integral part in that journey. What skills youll need  Proven background as a Solution Architect in a retail environment. Ability to identify, design & build both physical & digital retail solutions to drive solution architecture & strategy forwards. Significant understanding of service management, server centre setups, heterogeneous system environments & the full software delivery life-cycle. Experience of developing & maintaining architecture models, solution roadmaps & technology strategies directly linked to the wider application strategy. There is currently a retail & owner experience team which moving forward will be split into design & delivery as the new transformation structure is implemented, so this role sits in between the two teams. Youll be involved in working out timescales & costing before designing the solutions across multiple projects at any one time, focusing on unifying customer experience and driving overall solution architecture across the retail solutions landscape as a whole. There are multiple CRM systems internally so you will need to have worked on complex heterogeneous systems. The business is currently going through a large re-platforming project, operating across 21 countries and focusing on customer experience for multiple target audiences. Please note that the wider salary range is due to the business considering all levels of applicant. What skills youll need  Proven background in C# development, ideally with exposure to .Net Core. Excellent knowledge of cloud technology, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS). Understanding of TDD (Docker), CI/CD (Jenkins, Bamboo), automation and infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform). Awareness of connected products, scalability, micro-service architecture, message routing etc. Ability to involve yourself in the architecture & design of new components, as well as various testing processes & deployments. The business is constantly trying to find new and innovative ways of working and this role will play an integral part in that journey. What skills you'll need  Proven experience as a Security Architect on large digital applications. Extensive background in Retail/eCommerce security and/or AWS security (eCommerce highly preferred). Awareness of software/web development lifecycle. Great knowledge of cloud security (Amazon Web Services). Any understanding of Agile as well as SecDevOps and its related tech (things like Vericode, Black Duck etc.) would be beneficial. Experience of coordinating penetration tests, vulnerability scanning & secure coding practices. A relevant qualification (CISSP, CISA etc.) would be helpful but not essential. What you'll be doing Joining the cyber security team and working closely with the owner experience function, you will champion digital security across a large eCommerce platform, covering everything from setting security requirements through to the delivery of assurance activities. The development team will work closely with you and youll be expected to ensure they are coding in a secure way and act as an evangelist for secure coding practices across the business. You will coordinate and oversee security testing to assure vulnerability is kept at a minimum, as well as providing regular risk assessments & recommendations for the wider programme. Boasting an incredibly diverse client base, you could gain exposure to multiple industries including green energy, technology and healthcare. They are considering candidates at different levels of seniority hence the wider salary range.  What skills youll need  Proven background in a hands-on development capacity, using at least one server-side tech stack (e.g. Java, C#) - preferably open source though Microsoft is fine. Broad range of understanding across multiple technology ecosystems, as well as keeping up with the latest technical trends. Great understanding of the full design to implementation process, from solution design through to coding.  Background in an internal/technical leadership position, with excellent communication & client engagement skills. Awareness of the DevOps culture of working with an understanding of various CI/CD, automation & configuration tools. Ability to work in a highly Agile environment. What youll be doing  Joining an innovative delivery team in Bristol, youll be focused on building a variety of both Greenfield & on-going solutions across a primarily blue chip client base. You will act as the technical leader on a particular project, covering everything from solution design through to technical delivery & client maturity assessments, remaining hands-on with development as and when needed. Some examples of recent projects include the build of a new cloud-based platform for a British Retailer as well as the development of a cloud-based solution for a global television broadcaster! No day is the same in this role, offering plenty of variety, exposure to a broad range of progressive technologies and an innovative team to collaborate with.
