Strong technical expertise in open-source technologies – Such as; JavaScript, Node.js, React, Angular and Docker. Designing digital cloud solutions with Micro-Services. Strong capability to manage clients and advise on technology solutions and system improvements.  Ability to build prototypes and product roadmaps. Exposure and proven success in working with an AGILE environment. Passion for technology and emerging architectural principals. Excellent communication skills. Relevant university degree, with strong grades. Ideally commercial involvement in GDS projects (But private sector will be considered). What you’ll be doing Using your passion for technology, you will be designing and building enterprise systems, shaping digital cloud solutions and advising on technological choices. Working within AGILE methodologies and regularly interacting with the client, on both the solutions and progress - you will need to be hands on and client-facing, combining deep technical knowledge with the ability to present ideas. Working for a consultancy, some travel with the occasional overnight stay may be required.     CTO/Senior Developer

    — Remote based, travel to office every 2 weeks

    Bristol, London or Remote
    Geofencing platform that has supported innovative location-based campaigns worldwide. Play a pivotal part in the companies tech offering, work with React, Ruby, AWS. Build a small team of full-stack developers. A really cool company that is basically the Pokémon GO of branded content is getting some huge success due to their impressive relationships, working with one of the biggest names in boxing, a well-known global pop star, a hugely successful TV show and many more; they are in need of a Senior Developer or a CTO to work on their new platform for campaign work. This role boasts a big part for their growth, you are expected to be hands-on to begin with, but as you grow the team you can start to move towards management (if you wish). What experience you’ll need React (or similar front-end framework, such as Angular or Vue). Ruby / Rails (or similar back-end language / framework). Modern JavaScript, such as ES6. CSS3 and pre-processors such as LESS and SASS. Git (or equivalent VCS). Amazon Web Services would be desirable Docker is advantageous Semaphore CI (or equivalent, such as Travis or Jenkins) would be a bonus Agile and continuous deployment also desirable. Developing enterprise software ideally but not essential. An interest in eventually growing a team. Good communication skills. What you’ll be doing You will be the main developer working with the team to expand and maintain the current React/Ruby on-Rails platform. You will provide support in the production of campaigns using the CMS working with the sales team to gather new requirements and see them through to completion. On a weekly basis you will write and document code on the platform, adding new features across the CMS and application, writing unit tests to test your code. With other developers being a part of the company you will participate in code reviews, using Github to pull request feature. As it’s all on cloud you must deploy code to AWS, help maintain the Cloudformation stack. You work will be done in sprints, which is for you to take ownership of. Inheriting this code-base is a big deal, so you must be up to the challenge on taking a globally used platform and keeping the reputation together. If something faults it is up to you to fix it. It is expected that you are inspired to see what else you can do to improve the stack, productivity and UI offering.   What you’ll get in return for your talents It’s a great time to join this company with a brilliant sales pipeline and plenty of growth.     Software Engineering Manager

    — Leading a cross-functional team

    £75K - £85K
    Fantastic working environment in a central Bristol location. Remote working, flexi-time & 37.5hr week. Working with the most forward-thinking & emerging technology. Software Engineering Manager with experience in managing high performing development teams needed for a new division within a hugely progressive and continually growing company based in central Bristol. With a turnover of c£700m and 4 offices in Bristol & London, they were voted as being the top 20 of companies to work for in The Sunday Times!   What skills you'll need    Recent experience within a Technical Leadership role. You will need a proven & recent background in software engineering (open source or functional programming) and be able to have complex technical discussions with the rest of the team. You'll need an ability to involve yourself with architectural design as well.  Significant leadership experience, ideally with cross-functional teams of 10-20 people. The teams work at a very high standard and are very independent so an understanding of offering autonomy to them is expected. Understanding of open source or functional programming technologies; they're not looking for someone from a Microsoft or Enterprise background. Extensive knowledge of operating in a highly Agile environment is essential. Cloud experience would be ideal (AWS, Google Cloud etc.). As well as this, config management, automation & containerisation knowledge would be preferred. This role is all about people management coupled with a deep understanding of technology and a willingness to stay in touch with the latest trends. What you'll be doing   You will be managing a highly autonomous development team of 5 (due to grow rapidly), offering support, technical direction and advocating Agile practices where possible. You'll be passionate about building products and nurturing talent, encouraging progression and ensuring that all project delivery is aligned across your team. You will enforce TDD/BDD best practice, show a passion for scalable solutions whilst constantly using the most progressive and modern technology around. You'll be contributing to a multitude of systems meaning technology agnosticism is essential. More importantly, you will be creating a happy and open working environment where your team feel engaged, driven and willing to create and innovate. You'll also be responsible for their professional development and recruiting new members to the technology team.    What you'll get in return for your talents   Where do we even start?     Lead Developer/Head of Development

    — Scale-up with brilliant tech and huge pipeline

    New product must be used by law, incredible pipeline of products and clients. Heavily funded, huge focus and investment into the engineering team.             Work with and run modern tech - React Native, React, Angular, Vue, Zend, AWS. A start-up near Cirencester who are already the leader in their new and ‘essential’ market are going to be impacting the world with their digital tools that enable and secure some major data. Their patented technology will position them with a huge offering, so with such great opportunities in front of them they are looking to in-house their whole development team, they have a few but need someone to really shape the direction which is where the Lead Developer/Head of Development comes in. What you’ll need You will have mentored/lead developers in the past. Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript is essential. Usage of a JS framework such as React, Angular, Vue etc. Any work with React Native would be a major bonus. You will have worked with API’s. Version control (Git). Ideally some use of Grunt, npm, Jenkins. AWS would be nice to have. Agile experience. It would be beneficial but not important to have done some work with PHP and/or mobile (Android/iOS). A passion for technology and interest in self-learning. What you’ll be doing As a senior member of the team you will be running the show long-side hands-on coding in React Native, PHP and other front-end/back-end technologies. They are looking at creating new and innovative applications so you will need to know a lot of modern development and understand what’s popular and important in the market, with 20 products in the pipeline we want to use the best practice and best technologies to give our users the best most efficient experience. Working across a stack of applications you will craft a consistent and compelling experience for all users around the world; you will contribute to the design, planning and implementation of new application features. Whilst you work with innovative leaders you will bring ideas to the table and drive the best technologies and modern practice into the business in order to create the best engineering on offer, not just for the company but for yourself and your team. You will have lots of support along the way but must be there to support the more junior people where you will help train and develop team members; this team will play a pivotal part of the business so you will be well backed along the way. What you’ll get in return for your talents As outlined above this is a crucial team to the company, so if you work hard and achieve good results you will be heavily rewarded. The salary is flexible on experience (£60K-£80K). On top of the salary you will get 25 days holiday (which can increase), flexi hours and some remote working (1-3 days depending on capability), pension, on-site parking and the chance to upskill/train/attend conferences working with great tech working with great people on something huge.
