    Technical Architect

Broad technology stack spread across multiple language ecosystems.Im looking for a Technical Architect to join a well-reputed & delivery-focused tech consultancy in Central Bristol. Founded in the 90s, the business has moved from strength to strength over the years and has grown to over 900 people with offices in the UK and US. Boasting an incredibly diverse client base, you could gain exposure to multiple industries including green energy, technology and healthcare. They are considering candidates at different levels of seniority hence the wider salary range.  What skills youll need  Proven background in a hands-on development capacity, using at least one server-side tech stack (e.g. Java, C#) - preferably open source though Microsoft is fine. Broad range of understanding across multiple technology ecosystems, as well as keeping up with the latest technical trends. Great understanding of the full design to implementation process, from solution design through to coding.  Background in an internal/technical leadership position, with excellent communication & client engagement skills. Awareness of the DevOps culture of working with an understanding of various CI/CD, automation & configuration tools. Ability to work in a highly Agile environment. What youll be doing  Joining an innovative delivery team in Bristol, youll be focused on building a variety of both Greenfield & on-going solutions across a primarily blue chip client base. You will act as the technical leader on a particular project, covering everything from solution design through to technical delivery & client maturity assessments, remaining hands-on with development as and when needed. Some examples of recent projects include the build of a new cloud-based platform for a British Retailer as well as the development of a cloud-based solution for a global television broadcaster! No day is the same in this role, offering plenty of variety, exposure to a broad range of progressive technologies and an innovative team to collaborate with. Source, experiment and implement technical solutions that maximise the opportunities available within web, mobile, AI, VR (to name a few) environments. Work with a hugely respected team of experts in their field, renowned for innovation and award winning work.This is a brilliant opportunity for a Technical Director to join a small, well established team of likeminded people, hell bent on delivering innovative and ground breaking solutions to their clients. Based in Central Bath youll enjoy working within a team renowned for their expertise and play a key role in driving continued success across the business. What you'll be doing As Technical Director youll play the lead role in identifying solutions to often complex projects, the majority of which come from big brand B2C clients looking for something that will stand them apart from the competition. Were talking AI, VR, experiential, web and mobile based platforms that drive engagement from the utilisation of the latest or emerging technologies. Leading a small team of developers (whilst utilising freelance expertise as required) youll working alongside a team of creatives, user experience, and project management experts youll source, test, plan and spec each and every chosen technology that the team will be working with, creating effective specifications and pathways to success to maximise the opportunities available to them. As a rule theyll work with whatever technology best suits the project, if its something new to them theyll learn it. Backend work primarily utilises PhP/MySQL bespoke or platforms like WordPress and Drupal, Node.js, MongoDB. Secondary backend can see them working with unity, Java, Objective C / Swift. Front end is responsive HTML/CSS(Sass)/JS, using workflow tools like Gulp or Grunt,ES5 and ES6 Javascript frameworks (React.js). What experience you'll need  The successful Technical Director will have a fascination with the latest technologies, loving nothing more than understanding the possibilities of new and emerging platforms and stacks as they evolve and grow. An R&D person through and through that enjoys working in collaboration with creatives to realise each others ideas. Its unlikely youre hands on any more but you know how to hunt out a solution through understanding a projects concept and ambition, in return sourcing and marrying up the right technologies. Youll have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Although a techie at heart youll be a creative solution orientated thinker thats driven by finding the answer to complex challenges. Youll enjoy working within a small team, each doing their part to drive successful results that theyll be proud of.
