Proteomics Scientist

This is an opportunity to join a University of Dundee Spin-Out company specialising in proteomic analysis using mass spectrometry for early-stage drug, vaccine and biomarker discovery. You will work in the extremely well equipped laboratories prepping, running and analysing mass spec experiments.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Contribute to the design and optimisation of mass spectrometry methods and protocols related to protein and peptide.
  • Work as part of a high-achieving team to analyse various types of experiments.
  • Various types of sample prep for mass spectrometry analysis.
  • Run analysis of proteomics/immunopeptidomics or other omics data including complex sequence ID searches.
  • Record all experimental data in software.
  • Ordering and inventory of laboratory supplies related to sample preparation, mass spectrometry and chromatography.

What experience you will need to apply:

  • Science based BSc (Biochemistry or Molecular Biology preferred), ideally MSc, with proven hands-on experience in relevant biochemical techniques and development/maintenance of LC-MS (preferrable on Orbitraps).
  • Previous experience working with protein and peptide purification and analysis.
  • Ability to follow detailed protocols, keep accurate records and manage time efficiently.
  • Team and project management skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Data analysis and evaluation experience.
  • At least basic knowledge of oncology and immunotherapies.

Desirable experience: in analysing proteomics/immunopeptidomics data. And/or MHC complex purification experience.
