Technical Lead

I am recruiting for an early-stage Green Energy & Climate Tech startup who are on a mission to help companies replace fossil fuels, decarbonise and reach Net Zero as quickly as possible. Their goal is to build a portfolio of different new business ideas that help them achieve their mission.
Many companies rely on heavy-duty vehicles like trucks, ships, and planes. While new models are adopting green technologies, much of the existing fleet will still use internal combustion engines until around 2035. To meet emission targets, these vehicles need rapid decarbonisation, but companies face significant challenges.
 
My client offers a pragmatic solution, providing the most cost-effective and time-efficient sustainable options. A digital platform to analyse emissions, set realistic targets, and track progress, along with suitable physical fuels for decarbonization. Our goal is to be a “one-stop shop” supporting companies on their path to net zero.
 

What you’ll be doing:
 
Currently a team of four, we are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset to join them as “acting” CTO and help shape the digital product, by using your experience to build it the way you think it should be done.
 
They have developed the first idea, but now need a founding product focused Tech Lead for its validation and MVP. We are looking for someone who can design and develop the digital platform and its technical foundations from scratch.
 

Skills needed for this role:
 

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Full stack experience with web applications for business customers (B2B SaaS).
• Support of a software product through all phases of product development.
• Experience in an early-stage startup or similar (from conception to launch).
• Experience in leading product/tech/data teams (internal or external).
• Good communication both written and verbal.
• Loves collaborative working.
• Entrepreneurial and proactive thinking & action.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of German.
• Experience with UX / UI design.
• Industry experience in the field of green tech, energy, transport or mobility.
