An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an aspiring test engineer to join a hugely successful tech company in central Bath. The company have gone from strength to strength in recent years and due to a number of exciting new client wins they are looking to grow their Engineering team.

What skill's you'll be needing

  • A degree in computer science or numerate discipline.
  • Knowledge of at least one object orientated programming language such as Python, Java, Ruby, C, C++.
  • A passion for automated and manual testing.
  • Ability to pick up and learn new languages.
  • A genuine interest in software and technology.
  • If you have some experience within CI, Testing, Python, networking and Linux this will be a bonus.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be working alongside the developers testing, executing and maintaining automated and manual tests within the newly formed DevOps team focusing on the efficient practices to enable each of their monthly releases. On a daily basis you will be working with the senior test engineer designing and assisting them in the creation of their very first test script. As this is a new team here, you will play a pivotal role in the team's technology usage  and also their sprint stand ups. They will give you exposure to the main DevOps function here, working with exciting technology such as Terraforms and Ansible!

Remote working, flexible hours, stunning new offices.  A well-backed and exciting start-up with new offices in the Bath/Trowbridge area who create intuitive software solutions, native applications and platforms is looking for a Front-End Developer with strong React experience to help take their product forward. They're already making major movements in their market and following an extremely successful period of sustained growth they are now looking for someone to join the team in a part-onsite/part-remote capacity. They’re particularly interested in anyone available immediately, the projects are ready and they’re good to go! Experience you'll need Excellent front-end development experience, with great examples of work to show. React.js experience is essential and a strong background with JavaScript generally. High level of experience with UI layouts and SCSS. Experience of using REST API’s. Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and how to work around them. Build/config management including Webpack and Babel. GIT/SVN. Practical experience of testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Mocha, Chai etc. Passionate about learning the right technologies for the task. What you'll be doing You will be joining a small team of developers and be responsible for the look and feel of the application, as well as the architectures, performance optimisation, accessibility and usability. You will work with the QA lead and other developers, using the right tools and languages to ensure a high quality of product. They need someone with a keen eye for design and UI/UX to translate wireframes and UI designs into well crafter, intuitive code that helps create an efficient, standards-compliant and accessible software product. You’ll need to perform well in a fast-paced environment, sharing your knowledge with others and solving problems across the business.
