— Ambitious start-up changing the NFP sector.
- Tech for good start-up with ground breaking platform.
- Ruby-on-Rails – opportunity to cross train.
- Progress to CTO, remote working, huge flexibility.
An ambitious tech for good start-up is looking for a Senior Ruby Developer to join them in Bath and drive the development of their ground-breaking platform. Having previously relied on external resource to get their product off the ground, they’re now looking to build up a tech team and bring development in-house. You’ll play an integral role in growing the team and shaping the success of the platform which has already been hailed as a game changer for the NFP sector.
What skills you’ll need
- Significant experience in web development, with a strong understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies.
- Experience of Ruby on Rails.
- A good grasp of SQL and database management.
- Knowledge of ElasticSearch would be a bonus.
- Previous experience using AWS or Heroku.
What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Developer your focus will be to bring the development of their ground-breaking platform in-house and take ownership of the technical architecture. With the view of eventually stepping into a CTO role you’ll have complete control over the technical direction and will lend your expertise when it comes to implementing new tech. Initially you’ll work closely with the development agency to get to grips with the platform before going on to build your own team of developers. They have big aims for the company with ambitious plans for growth (they’ve already more than doubled in size during lockdown) and the team are coming up with new ideas on an almost daily basis, including plans to add mobile apps to their suite. They’re a small company so progression is rapid in a role which offers a huge amount of flexibility and growth potential.
What you’ll get in return
This is an amazing opportunity to work on a ground-breaking product for a progressive tech for good start-up, developing (or continuing to develop) your skills in one of the hottest languages out there. You’ll receive a generous salary paying up to £70K, flexible and remote working options, 25 days holiday (plus bank hols), pensions scheme, employee share option pool, on the job training and a plenty of company socials.
