Tech Instructor

— Progressive, friendly company

  • Fantastic company self-management modern philosophy.
  • Great working environment overlooking amazing views of Bath.
  • Personable, open and friendly team.

An enthusiastic and friendly software developer instructor is required due to further growth with my progressive company based in central Bath. You’ll be working with one of the leading training arms in the South West, having a hands-on approach to bridging the skills gap. Founded in 2015, they have grown strength to strength, building on a strong reputation for great quality and supportive learning.

What you’ll need

  • Experience working as a professional software developer would provide a greater understanding, however not essential as you’ll be put through the same training as you’d be delivering.
  • Self-taught software developers with no commercial experience are happily welcome!
  • If you use C, Ruby or Java, it really doesn’t matter to my client, they have a team with a variety of technologies, just as long as you have an open mind to learn and develop yourself.
  • Be submerged in the South West Tech world, attending regular meet ups and keeping a knowledge of recent trends etc.
  • Experience as an instructor/trainer role isn’t essential, however an open mind and friendly personality is!
  • Experience of methodologies such as agile, pair programming and code reviews

What you’ll be doing

You will be providing 16-week coding training to aspiring software developers of all ages, sexes and races. You will run two course per year, with the other time being your down time to update the curriculum, develop new workshops, assess student applications, run coding sessions for schools and newbies, deliver bespoke training for tech companies, and work with hiring partners to find opportunities for your newly skilled developer students!

What you’ll get in return for your talents

Not only will you be working in a beautiful Georgian building, with incredible views over the entirety of Bath. There’s a lovely garden you can go and relax in, whilst sampling one of the fresh apples of figs from the trees. For the colder months they also have break out rooms with big comfortable sofas, board games and Mario kart.
Tea, coffee, toast and fruit is all provided. Full flexible working, outside of training block months.
