PHP Developer

A small but mighty Bath based digital agency is looking for a talented PHP Developer to product high-quality solutions for their impressive client base. They’re a progressive agency with a friendly, tight knit team working with brands across film, ecommerce and charity sectors to name a few.  

What skills you'll need

  • Competent building quality PHP websites.
  • Experience of PHP MVC such as Laravel, Symfony, Yii etc.
  • Previous experience integrating templates into CMS (e.g. WordPress, Craft etc).
  • Use of version control systems such as Git.
  • Familiarity with 3rd party API integration.
  • Any experience of working on eCommerce websites would be great but not essential.
  • Solid front-end tech skills with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/JQuery. Experience with JS libraries (React, Vue etc) would be beneficial.

As PHP Developer you’ll help to create award-winning websites for some truly fantastic clients.  The role will involve all elements of project work from planning, building, testing, delivery and support, working closely with the front-end developers to create high quality content-managed sites and dynamic web applications. They’re keen to find someone who enjoys collaborating and sharing their experiences, passing on your skills to others and picking up knowledge is key to success in this role.  You’ll get to manage your own time and day, they’re not into micro-management here; project deadlines are very reasonable and work-life balance is a key part to the success of the business.

A world leading specialist focused on active lifestyle and sport is expanding across all their teams with a need for a Senior Back-End Developer. They've gone from strength to strength in the past two years and have grown their development team to roughly 35, with no plans to stop there! What skills you’ll be needing Significant knowledge of scalable server-side development in NodeJS.  Knowledge of designing and building RESTful / GraphQL API’s.  Appreciation for best practice surrounding engineering, design, security, testing.  Understanding of DevOps principles, including tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, Docker etc.  Cloud-native / PaaS knowledge is desirable (AWS, GCP, Azure, serverless etc.). Please note that the business would consider applicants from a Java/Ruby/PHP background as long as you have some awareness of NodeJS or a desire to work with it.   What you’ll be doing Joining a multi-disciplined development team you’ll be supporting the design and build of various web apps that aims to be integrated into the business’ existing infrastructure, offering a focus on scalability on the server-side. You’ll be connected to the product team to keep visions aligned, as well as producing reusable code with high engineering standards with that can be passed on to other engineers joining the team later down the line.
