Assistant Online Trader

This established, multi-channel retailer is going from strength to strength, and the eCommerce team in particular is growing at a good pace, providing you with the opportunity to expand your digital skills and progress your online trading career. 

What youll be doing 

A new role within the Online Trading team, the Assistant Online Trader is responsible for assisting in delivering against revenue targets and KPIs in all online trading related tasks. Additionally, you will be responsible for the maintenance and growth of single product categories, and ultimately maximising sales. 

Youll be expected to carry out analysis to effectively merchandise the site, review product performance and manage range details, pricing, lead times and promotional activity. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to assist in driving wider site development initiatives.

A key part of your role will be to ensure that ‘Clearance products are added to the website accurately and according to schedule, as well as working with the Marketing & Buying teams to coordinate effective Clearance product campaigns. 

Youll liaise with the Product Content Executive and wider Product team to keep website content commercially-appealing, and work with the Online Trading Lead to analyse eCommerce performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Areas to cover include website sales, average order value, margin, conversion, bounce rates, search engine rankings, engagement levels and basket abandonment.

Finally, with the support of the merchandising team, you will ensure all promotions are implemented correctly, including price updates and product categorisation, in addition to assisting in the maintenance of the online search function. 

What experience youll need to apply

  • Experience within a similar eCommerce role is advantageous.
  • Commercially-minded and customer-focussed approach.
  • Numerate with good analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and good time management skills.
  • Familiarity with online trading tools and technology would be a bonus.
  • Strong Excel skills are preferred.
  • A passion for retail and eCommerce.
