Graphic Designer

— XML to InDesign project

Rate: DOE
Location: Bristol
Type: Contract
Ref: 9442

Description

  • Initial 2 week project starting ASAP.
  • Good potential to extend long term.
  • Competitive day rate on offer.

This is a contract position based in central Bristol. The Initial booking will be for 2 weeks but may develop into a long term contract.

What you'll be doing

Our client produces a large number of digital leaflets and brochures each year. As well as being online it’s important the information is available in a physical format for events and to be used as sales collateral. Currently the digital versions are downloaded and converted to PDF for printing but this offers very little customisation on design and layout.

The idea moving forward is to make use of the content stored in online XML files and to create customised InDesign templates across all their products.  The initial project is to trial this over a small number of products as a feasibility study, if successful they would roll this out across their whole range and look for the contractor to complete this work.

For this project it’s important we find a designer that has previous experience of importing XML data files into InDesign.

What experience you’ll need to apply

  • An experienced designer and expert user of the Adobe Creative Suite (in particular InDesign).
  • Previous experience of important XML files ino InDesign
  • XML template creation and InDesign field mapping

What you’ll get in return for your experience

In return for your talents you’ll be compensated with a competitive dayrate. There is a good chance this project will lead to longer term bookings.

What's next?

Please apply with an up to date CV, any supporting design work or a covering note detailing relevant experience with XML and InDesign.
