Front-End Developer

A very successful start-up with a mission of greening the planet is looking to expand their development team (currently 10) with the addition of a Senior Front-End Developer. They recently featured in Apple’s ‘app of the week’ with over 30,000 registrations having launched only launched just over a year ago. It’s a very exciting time to join, there’s lots of cool tech in the company, they’re working with ML, Computer vision/augmented reality, all very cool stuff.

What experience will you need

  • Experience using JavaScript (in particular React.js).
  • Strong front-end development skills with HTML5, CSS3 and associated tech.
  • Comfortable with rapid prototyping and iteration.
  • Desire to work in an agile, highly collaborative start-up environment with fortnightly retrospectives.
  • Desire to learn new tech, and share your knowledge with the team.

What you’ll be doing

The technical challenges range from building a growing social network to investigating new technologies like AR and ML. You will be working as a Senior Front-End Developer on the continuous development of their  flagship website surfacing dynamic content from the API and making site-wide SEO improvements.  The role will interface with marketing, design and business development teams and you’ll work closely with designers to maintain consistency within the product.  Also there will be a good overlap with the engineering team to build out content management capabilities.   Within the business they take research and development very seriously, there’s regular hackdays, development budget and you can expect to be given plenty of time to experiment with emerging tech and ideas.
