Front-End Developer

One of Bristol’s best digital agencies is looking for a talented Front-End Developer to join their 10 strong development team.  Much of the work is utilising the latest technologies (particularly Vue.js) for not-for-profit and Tech For Good clients with the opportunity to lead projects and learn from experienced developers around you in a fun and collaborative environment.   

What skills you'll be needing

  • Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS (LESS/SASS) JavaScript.
  • Experience or familiarity with at least one JavaScript framework such as Vue.js, Angular or React.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows.
  • Willingness to work with Drupal 8.
  • Understanding of Agile development principles.
  • GIT/Version control experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of build tools such as NPM, Grunt, Gulp or Webpack.
  • A good understanding and implementation of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0/2.1.
  • Comfortable using Photoshop, Sketch or similar graphics editing programmes.
  • Have great communication and interpersonal skills, and a good sense of humour.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle with a keen interest in user experience.
  • Self-motivated, calm under pressure and methodical approach.

What you'll be doing

Working within their amazing team, you’ll be asked to produce beautiful, responsive websites by you will be able to gain experience working with de-coupled or ‘headless’ technology stacks, expand your knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js and build on your accessibility credentials. You’ll be asked to produce beautiful, responsive websites by translating sketches, wireframes and graphic designs into accessible HTML, CSS and JavaScript.  In addition, they will look to you to analyse client’s website UI’s and suggest improvements and work closely with UX designers and producers.  There will also be opportunities to help plan, build and support solutions and write blog posts around all things front-end.  They’re very keen on training and learning so there will be lots of events and courses for you to consider, passing on your knowledge to the rest of the team and helping juniors.
