Full Stack Developer

An exciting Bristol based start-up is looking for a Full-Stack Developer to join the growing team at their new offices. Historically the team has worked remotely but now having their own space, they are looking to bring everything in-house.  The team has already grown from one to five over the last few months, but with their websites seeing over 2 million users each month, there is still demand for a Full Stack Developer to join them. There’s a real emphasis on collaboration in the office and you’ll be actively encouraged to share idea’s & technical insight, whether this leads to changes to the tech stack or best practises, your opinion will be valued equally to that of longer standing members.

What experience you'll need

  • Your primary skill set will be based around HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript libraries such as React or Angular would be a bonus.
  • Familiarity with SQL, API’s & source control.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines with strong written & oral communication skills is important in this role.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/SCRUM methodologies

What you'll be doing

You'll be joining the new in-house development team and will play a key role in the continued success of their two core websites. You will assist with coding, testing & deployment as well as lending your technical expertise to suggesting new tech or best practices where appropriate. Initially, you’ll be working on improving the existing websites with the view to go on to develop their brand-new, website targeting the US. The office is new and the team is currently small so your ideas on the use of new/emerging tech, process improvements and problem solving will be highly appreciated and encouraged. Collaboration is at the heart of what they do therefore it is important for them that all developers are keen to contribute their knowledge & play an active role in the development of the company. They’re a social bunch who like to get together outside of work too so any ideas for socials are also strongly welcomed!
