We’re working with one of the South-Wests most impressive tech businesses (offices in Bristol) with a diverse product suite used by a global client base of household names.
Well-backed and having achieved record sales growth so far this year, they are building out their development capabilities and looking for a number of Java Developers to join their team. With multiple greenfield projects in the pipeline and the upcoming migration to a microservices architecture, it’s an exciting time to join the business.

With modern, open plan offices in central Bristol, working in an Agile style set-up you can work remotely with the odd trip to the office fortnightly/monthly for key meetings.

What you’ll be doing

Within this role you’ll join a small, multi-disciplinary team and have direct influence on the evolution of their product suite. Working with Agile practices, a key focus in your role will be on aggregating APIs; both designing in-house and integrating those offered by suppliers. You’ll also be heavily involved in aggregating data; importing/exporting and all steps in between.
As part of an SME, there’s lots of scope to get involved with a diverse range of projects and no red-tape, enabling you to immerse yourself with new and emerging tech. You’ll have opportunities for R&D and regular reviews to support your progression and development. 

What you’ll need to apply

  • 2 + years professional Java development experience. 
  • A sense of ownership and customer-centric approach to your work. 
  • Forward-thinking with a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Git.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, etc) desirable but not essential.
  • Linux skills would be advantageous but are certainly not essential.

You can expect to pick up skills with the likes of: Kubernetes / GKE, Google Cloud Platform, Spring Boot & Batch, Postgres, Redis, BigQuery, and Firestore
