With lovely offices in Clevedon, currently there are 5 developers internally with scope to get to 8 in the near future. What you’ll be doing

Joining the product development team and reporting into the Head of Product, you will take responsibility for the design & implementation of various web pages as well as integrating them with the company’s core systems. There are various systems to look after including pre-registration, onboarding & user portals, so adaptability is key. This role is full-stack though more back-end leaning; you will work closely with the product team to ensure all business needs are met on-time, mainly focusing on the technical aspect but occasionally involving yourself in designing UX solutions for any new & existing requirements across various systems. The company are either looking for self-starters who are willing to progress and learn new technologies, or a senior developer who is confident taking ownership of their own team and supporting/mentoring junior developers as the business grows.

What experience you’ll need

  • Significant knowledge of PHP 5-7+ (OO, web based) and Laravel MVC.
  • Good understanding of SOAP/REST web services.
  • Proven knowledge of HTML, CSS, Sass, JavaScript and ideally one of its libraries.
  • Experience in a Linux environment & knowledge of MySQL.
  • Awareness of BDD/TDD principles & the “DevOps” culture of working.
  • Any understanding of Python/Perl would be highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment.

What you’ll get in return for your talents

Along with a competitive salary (up to £60K), you’ll be given 25 days annual holiday, private BUPA scheme & company pension, as well as insurance from the day you start. You also get a day off on your Birthday which is always nice! The culture is very laid back; quite an outgoing team with plenty of socials. There’s a lot of progression opportunity, with regular salary reviews and scope to move up the ranks into a Lead Developer, and possibly even a Development Manager role later down the line.
