R&D Project Manager

This successful robotics start-up are recruiting for their first Project Manager to join the team. They currently operate in the UK and EU and are expanding into US, Asia & the Middle East with big growth plans ahead you will play a key part in supporting this business through their next phase of growth and beyond! 

What you’ll be doing 

As Technical Project Manager you will be tasked to come in and take ownership of a large R&D project throughout the full lifecycle; from gathering requirement, scoping, writing project plans through to delivery ensure deadlines and budgets have been met. You will work closely with customers and stakeholders continuously keeping them updated on the progress of your projects. 

You will take ownership of other ongoing, live and any upcoming projects as they come through. Utilising your experience, you will take full ownership of project delivery, looking at current processes, setting the direction and implementing practices – this role Is really what you make it and there will be no limitations. You will be supported, reporting into the CTO and working as part of a cross-functional collaborative team. 

What experience you’ll need

  • You will currently be a Project Manager or Delivery Manager.

  • Proven experience managing technology-based product.

  • Experience of managing software development projects.

  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), computer vision and/or robotics projects.

  • Worked at a senior level, mentoring junior members of the team and are a natural leader.

  • Natural people person, with strong communication skills, ability to manage stakeholders internally and externally at all levels.

  • Experience running R&D/ research projects throughout the full lifecycle. 

  • Agile and Scrum experience. 

  • MS Project or similar (Basecamp, Workzone, Asana etc). 

  • If you have worked within the public sector or government my client will be particularly interested.
