Front-End Developer

One of Bristol’s most well renowned software houses are looking for a talented Front-End Developer to join their team. Business is booming for them and this is an additional hire to help them build a new product to take to market using the latest tech and quality driven software engineering standards.

*Fully remote UK wide and within +2 hrs of UK time zone – they have developers in Spain and Italy.

What skills you’ll be needing

  • React, Redux.
  • HTML5, CSS3 (SASS, SCSS, LESS), JavaScript.
  • Webpack/NPM.
  • Knowledge of SOLID, OOP, Design Patterns etc.
  • Some unit or behavioural testing would be great.
  • Excellent communication skills -although the role isn’t client-facing they’re looking for people to work well across different teams in a Scrum/Agile set-up.

What you’ll be doing

From the start you’ll be getting involved with the development of an exciting new product in an Agile set-up alongside 5-6 other experienced developers.  You’ll be writing high-quality code based upon strong fundamentals of software engineering and contributing ideas to the team.  Any new projects they take on use React/Redux so there’s a great opportunity to strengthen your skills in that area without heavy deadlines and hassle.  As a tech team they’re increasingly automating and using CI and devops tools to strengthen their output, you’ll be able to learn and get involved with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins and others to help push changes to their live environments.  Part of the working week is freed up for learning and experimenting (anything techie you want) and if you want to, reporting back anything cool to the team.
