One of Bristol’s most exciting tech start-ups are looking to add to their team working on an industry leading platform for the food industry. Currently managing £2-3m per month in customer transactions and used by some of the UK’s most prominent food suppliers, this high availability system helps to allow customers to self-serve, automate and drive sales growth making it one of the most revolutionary products to reach the industry for decades.
The team are fully UK remote with a co-working space in Bristol to work from as and when you like.
What skills you’ll need
- Typescript code standards and practices.
- Experience with modern frontend technologies (React, HTML5, CSS, JS, Webpack, Babel, ES6, etc).
- RESTful API services.
- Micro-service API architecture.
- SQL databases and NO-SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Familiar with frontend and backend test suites such as Jest, Cypress, etc.
Any knowledge or willingness to learn the following would be great:
- CI/CD principles.
- Containerized run-times (Docker).
- Infrastructure as code (AWS CDK / Terraform).
- Serverless architecture and deployment.
- AWS and associated components such as EC2, IAM, Lambda, etc.
What you’ll be doing
You will be working on a new platform with powerful ordering and self-serve features that streamlines customer service and provides an infinitely better experience on any device. The product is already responsible for c£3m consumer transactions per month in the UK and there are plans to introduce new features including native apps, forecasting, tracing of the origin of ingredients and machine learning amongst others. The role covers two main aspects: development of new features and support for existing clients. As they grow, adding new features and onboarding more clients, the importance and influence of this role will continue to expand. Working across the full-stack you will be able to work with flexibility and learn new, cutting edge tech within the role applying them as you go with the backing and autonomy to make a real contribution to the success of the business.
