A fast-growing SAAS scale-up with over 400 clients is looking to bolster their talented tech team with the arrival of a PHP Developer.  Using a custom MVC and with an impressive, market-leading platform and applications they’ve grown their client base significantly in a short space of time. 

*Fully remote or you can work from their Bristol office whenever you want.

What skills you’ll be needing

  • Strong commercial software development, with experience in PHP.
  • A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices.
  • Excellent understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Excellent understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages.
  • Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around such issues.
  • Understanding of code versioning using Git.
  • Excellent understanding of browser rendering behaviour and performance.

What you’ll be doing

They are looking for a PHP Developer who is dedicated to the craft, writes code that they are proud of and can hit the ground running. You will be a part of a full-stack creative team that is responsible for all aspects of the ongoing software development from the initial specification, through to developing and testing.  Duties will include developing new user-facing features, reusable code and libraries for future use, co-operating with web designers to match visual design intent, integrating data from various back-end services and databases and optimising applications for maximum speed and scalability.  You’ll become really proficient at being able to gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs and create and maintain software documentation.
