Software Developer

An open minded and motivated full stack developer is required due to further growth with a progressive company based in central Bristol. You’ll be involved with building, scaling and evolving their platform. You’ll be working in a start-up, amongst a diverse friendly team, working collaboratively to maximise output.

What you’ll need  

  • Familiar with API, GoLang, Java, JavaScript, Python, TypeScript and React, however not essential, as long as you are keen to learn new technologies
  • Interest in applied Machine Learning
  • Commercial experience as a full stack developer is fantastic, but not essential. If you’re a self-taught developer, we’d love to hear from you
  • Variety of commercial and/or personal projects to show case

What you’ll be doing

  • Working with Oracle Cloud to host on their bespoke software
  • Using Kubernetes to schedule and run services
  • Writing services with Golang
  • Building frontend using TypeScript/Angular
  • Continuous delivery through Gitlab
  • Using MySQL for persistent storage

I’m currently working with an extremely exciting tech company in Bristol who are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join up and become the Head of their new Data Science function. Their product is changing their field massively and they are growing at an incredible rate.  What you’ll be doing Heading up their new function means leading their data team to deliver a number of key objectives for the business including; insights for their clients and stakeholders, internal data reporting and looking into opportunities to make their company a data-driven as possible.  From the start you’ll be responsible for the data across the business looking driving the culture of the company, ensuring the data architecture and systems are in order as well as making use of their abundance of data to develop some exciting Data Science and Machine Learning solutions for their products.   What experience you’ll need to apply Over 4 years’ experience working in a Data Science/Machine Learning role (preferably in an Agile environment) Proven experience managing and mentoring junior data scientists/analysts. Programming skills in Python ideally (using libraries like Pandas, Numpy and Scikit-learn). Knowledge of Looker, Snowflake, DBT and Stitch would be ideal. What you’ll be doing You enjoy working on a variety of projects differing in size, complexity, and budget with a number of high-profile clients across a range of industries from fintech through to education. As Business Analyst your focus will be working on multiple system integrations for their bespoke product (SaaS) to deliver maximum efficiency and business value. You will manage information flow, data requirements, as well as making strategic decisions about what functionality belongs inside what system. Working closely with the development team you will run discovery phases for complex projects to internal and external stakeholders, defining processes, mapping out requirements, writing detailed documentation for the projects and working closely with the delivery team ensuring that the scope of the projects, budgets, and timelines are aligned.   What experience you’ll need to apply You will be an experienced Business Analyst with experience of software/website development projects. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Superb stakeholder management and communication skills. An analytical and methodical approach. SaaS experience.  Experience identifying as-is and to-be processes. Some experience of wireframing, user journeys, process diagrams. Data mapping and API activities. Strong written communication skills specifically around documenting requirements. Strong technical understanding of software or website development. Experience of User Testing desired, not essential.
