Senior Front-End Developer

One of Bristol’s most well renowned software houses are looking for a talented Senior Front-End Developer to join their team.  Business is booming for them and this is an additional hire to help them build a new product to take to market.

*Happy with working in their office 1 day per week (or more if you’d like).

What skills you’ll be needing

  • React, Redux.
  • Experience of working on large scale applications rather than websites.
  • Webpack/NPM.
  • Knowledge of SOLID, OOP, Design Patterns etc.
  • Unit and/or behavioural testing.
  • Excellent communication skills -although the role isn’t client-facing they’re looking for people to work well across different teams in a Scrum/Agile set-up.

What you’ll be doing

From the start you’ll be getting involved with the development of an exciting new product in an Agile set-up alongside 5-6 other experienced developers.  You’ll be responsible for the front-end functionality and tooling for the business, evaluating and implementing new tech and process where needed.   They’re keen to make sure that their codebase is based on solid software engineering practices and is stable, testable and easily maintainable. New projects they take on use React/Redux and experience here is key.  The team are increasingly automating and using CI and devops tools to strengthen their output, you’ll be able to get involved with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins and others to help push changes to their live environments.  You’ll play a key part in higher-level business processes and projects, working with the entire product development team and wider business.  You will be extremely comfortable with automated unit testing and ideally behavioural & functional testing and continuous integration & build process using Webpack, you will be highly proficient in the use of these js build tools.
