Web Tester

— 3 month contract

£300-£350 a day
  • Manual Website and Applications testing.
  • 3 month contract, possible extension.
  • Fun, friendly team, interesting clients

Immediate start for a Test Engineer to join the existing QA team of one of Bristols best software houses for an initial 3 month period.  Having won a raft of new projects, they need someone with strong manual website and web application test experience to get stuck in.

What skills youll be needing

  • Demonstrable experience of website testing.
  • Test case generation, creating manual test scripts etc.
  • Previous experience of Visual Studio Test Manager and Team Foundation Server would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of CMS, HTML and using browser developer tools to diagnose issues would be beneficial.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and be a self-starter.

What youll be doing

Working closely with a team of highly skilled developers, youll be testing a variety of websites and applications for market leading and house hold name brands, as well as bespoke software solutions and Dynamics CRM systems. Working with tools such as Visual Studio Test Manager and Team Foundation Server, youll be responsible for creating test plans, identifying & reporting any faults and taking ownership of the quality of the final product.

Automation Tester needed for a delivery-focused tech consultancy in Central Bristol. Founded in the 90s, the business has grown to over 1400 people now with offices across the UK and over in the US. With a broad range of different projects to work on, you will find yourself learning new tech regularly with no day being the same.    What skills youll need   Proven awareness of automated testing using Selenium, Cucumber or Fitnesse, ideally in a commercial environment.  Ability to utilise at least one programming language such as Java, JavaScript, C#, Ruby and Python. However, the broader your programming experience goes the better! Good understanding of at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Rackspace etc.). Excellent knowledge of load testing, preferably with JMeter but open to others (Loadrunner, Gatling, TFS). Proven track record of following Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) as well as TDD/BDD principles. Any understanding of continuous integration and delivery is highly beneficial (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins).  What youll be doing    Joining the Bristol delivery team, you will be working on a broad range of projects which spreads across an incredibly diverse client base with no day being the same. You will participate in regular stand-ups with the rest of the team, working with other engineers to understand the clients product architecture in order to design the most effective test automation tools for the particular project moving forward. Quality assurance is a key factor in the companys delivery model so collaboration is key; you will need to ensure you are building quality processes with a stress on exploratory testing, bug advocacy and automation.
