UX Designer

— Start-up, Scale-up Clients

Location:
Bristol
Type:
Salary:
Upto circa £40k
  • Work with new digital products and services that solve social and sustainability issues.
  • Join a small agency with a great culture and real growth potential.
  • Help define and own the user experience process for the agency.

We're looking for a UX Designer to join a small but software design agency in Bristol. This will be their first UX Designer and represents an exciting step forward for the agency.

What you'll be doing

This agency produces a wide variety of digital products and services to their clients (largely within the start-up / scale-up). Past projects have included community tools for the creative industries, an online platform to disrupt the property industry, smart location based marketing tools and a number of products with social, environmental and sustainability causes at heart.

The agency sits at around 20 people and is home to a large development team as well as a number of product managers. Working with so many start-ups means they have a very consultative approach to product design and work closely with their clients from discovery to delivery.

Up until now all of their UI and UX has been done by the development team, this role is a new specialist position within the business. The UX Designer will engage with their clients right from the beginning of a project and remain involved throughout. We're looking for someone who can workshop with clients, bring ideas to life through rapid wireframing and prototyping and who can test their designs in an iterative fashion as a product develops. This will be a collaborative role and work very closely with the development team.

What experience you'll need to apply

  • Experience in a UX design role; preferably within an agency or software development studio.
  • Consultative in your approach; comfortable workshopping with clients and able to visualise product ideas through sketches, wireframes and prototypes (paper / clickable).
  • Able to work in an iterative fashion and with a collaborative approach to product design.

What you'll get in return for your experience

In return for your experience you'll join an agency with some great benefits including investment and profit share opportunities, private medical cover, a company pension scheme, personal development budget and opportunity for sabbatical.

What's next?

Please apply with an up to date CV and any supporting portfolio examples or case studies.
