Director of Bioanalysis

This is an opportunity to join a global start-up within the neurodegeneration translational biomarkers and bioanalysis space. The Director of Bioanalysis will lead multiple projects and engage with clients within the biomarker discovery, targeted proteomics, and mass spectrometry space. Leading a team of talented scientists sharing top level insight and overseeing all bioanalysis projects.???????

What you'll be doing:

  • Sharing insight and knowledge on the design, development and implementation of translational biomarker tests overseeing the development of detailed LC-MS/MS analytical method protocols for implementation by laboratory staff.
  • Manage higher scientific strategy alongside the CSO helping with bioanalysis team expansion, training, and development.
  • Overseeing the analysing LC-MS/MS data, curating and delivering reports directly to clients.
  • Managing external collaborations to ensure delivery of the projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Contributing to grant, patent applications and scientific publications.
What experience you will need to apply:

  • PhD or equivalent experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry or related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience of team leadership within bioanalysis, managing multiple scientists and overseeing projects.
  • Substantial, hands-on industry experience with LC-MS/MS platforms, ideally including triple quadrupole mass spectrometry systems.
  • A history in biomarker assay development and delivery (preferable within start-up or small industry team environment)
  • Experience in targeted proteomics, lipidomics and/or metabolomics is highly desirable.
  • Substantial publication record within the biomarker and bioanalysis field.
  • Prior knowledge or experience within LC-MS/MS in the context of neurodegeneration research.
