Senior Designer

We are looking for an integrated Senior Designer to join an award winning organisation in North Dorset. With a studio set in a breath-taking location that’s commutable from Bath and Bournemouth, this is a chance to come on board with one of the most exciting organisations in the area.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting in to the Creative Head, and working closely with Artwork and Project Managers, you’ll be delivering creative from concepts all the way through to production on solutions across all customer facing channels to an exceptional standard.

As the organisation looks to bridge the gap between their online and offline offering you’ll be working in a multidisciplinary design role across POS, packaging and digital assets such as web banners, landing pages and social media assets.

As an ideas-led creative, you’ll tell the brands story by translating their visual identity across integrated channels, and will help lead the design team to execute your concepts to the finest standard. That said, you’re a natural when it comes to leading on projects, scheduling workflow, and building relationships.

No two days will be the same, as you will collaborate with the Head of Creative when required, which will often involve the Art Direction and organisation of regular photoshoots to produce product imagery, so ideally you’re familiar with a similar environment!

What experience you’ll need to apply

  • At least a few years’ integrated design experience in a commercial context.
  • A portfolio full of examples of print and digital design work, including Packaging.
  • Ideas led, and able to talk through your conceptual process.
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • A natural project manager, with prior experience leading on projects.
  • Confident guiding junior members of a creative team.
  • Experience using After Effects a bonus.

It’s a varied role to say the least where you’ll be involved in a host of tasks to support the wider design studio. Your duties will include (but not limited to) assisting with the day to day management of creative schedules, ensuring timesheets for the studio are correct and up to date,  running reports to monitor workloads & expenditure, budget tracking, archiving artwork files, liaise with external printers for estimates and research suppliers for branded merchandise. As a large part of this role will be dealing with external suppliers you’ll ideally already have a good knowledge of print processes and production across digital, large format and litho. As you'll work closely with the Workflow & Print Production Manager you’ll have the support behind you to develop within the role. What experience you’ll need to apply Fluent with Microsoft Word & Excel. Had experience working in a creative environment. Solid knowledge of print processes (digital, large format, litho). Good eye for detail. Exceptional customer service skills. Cope well under pressure. Happy to work autonomously as well as part of a team. Good communication skills both verbally & written. You’ll be working with an established brand and one with a well developed identity, this means you’ll need to be creative but within the context of a wider visual language. To create a memorable customer experience you’ll need to develop a deep understanding of the brand and the technology they create as well as the problems facing automotive retail today.  What experience you’ll need to apply Experience within retail / service design. What you’ll be doing  The Lead UI Designer will join a UX/UI team of 6 (+ contract support). This is a hands on role focussed on providing user centred visual design for web and email as well as visual direction and leadership for other designers within the team.
