A cutting-edge tech company in the heart of Cambridge’s tech community are looking for a Software Engineer to join them as they continue to expand. They work with some of the most innovative and well-known manufacturing companies helping them integrate their technologies into devices and vehicles that we all use every day.

What skill’s you’ll need

  • Background in software development and support
  • Php, Javascript and Java;
  • Experience with MySQL databases and web development;
  • Exposure to LAMP servers;
  • Experience working with small teams and/or alone
  • Strong ability to write structured code and create good documentation

It’d be great if you had exposure to some the following

  • Payara JavaEE server.
  • C/C++ programming experience in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience developing using languages including Python.

What you’ll be doing

As a Support and Development Software Engineer, you’ll work closely with the wider team on all aspects of the software development life cycle. You’ll have access to high-end software tools and modern programming practices in order to successfully complete your work.

What you’ll be doing In this role you’ll be joining a specialist digital agency that provides digital startegy, design, build, integration and optimisation. You will bring product vision and value to a client base that spans the health, e-commerce, financial services and technology industries, amongst others. As a Product Owner you will be involved throughout the entire project life cycle; from concept to delivery and support. Working closely with clients from the very beginning you’ll run and facilitate workshops in order to understand business requirements, ambitions, pain points and user needs. During build you’ll define sprint goals and prioritise and manage the development backlog, ultimately ensuring client and business goals are met throughout the process. What you’ll need to be considered Previous experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst or a similar role. Confident working throughout the whole development lifecycle. Comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels, getting value from senior conversations and valuable business insight. Be resourceful, able to make the most of client insight and research. Previous experience in running client workshops. Experience of working closely with developers as well as UX and design specialists. Consultative in your approach; able to spot opportunities in customer roadmaps, product enhancements and training.     Senior/Lead Ruby Developer - Remote

A digital innovation agency in London are looking for a Senior/Lead Ruby Developer to work fully remote with a trip to London once a week to liaise with the team. This agency are specialists in digital strategy, user research and application development, boasting a diverse customer base which spans across large corps, not-for-profits & start-up organisations.  What experience you’ll need  Demonstrable background in developing complex Ruby on Rails applications, ideally with exposure to multi-project environments. Experience in mentoring other Developers and acting as Technical Lead on projects.  Awareness of the “DevOps” culture of working (CI/CD, IaC, automation, containers etc.).  Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL datastores.  Ability to write reusable, reliable, scalable code, as well as supporting live apps in production.  Drive to learn new & emerging tech, for example Elixir or React Native.  What you’ll be doing  As a Senior/Lead Developer here, you’ll report into the Technical Director, acting as Technical Lead across a diverse project base, playing a key part in the build of solid, scalable products in Ruby on Rails. Communication is key, you’ll take ownership of technical strategy, providing consultancy to their customer base and often working across multiple projects concurrently meaning you’ll need to be adaptable. These applications often have complex workflows & database schemas so you’ll need to be confident in making positive technical architecture decisions and providing direction to other more junior developers in the team.
