Location: Gloucestershire
Type: Permanent

Description

  • Design for interesting, data led interfaces.
  • Work closely with expansive development team.
  • Influence UX / design maturity in a growing business.

We’re looking for a UX/UI Designer to join a growing tech business in the heart of Gloucestershire. Their unique product suite is used to make sense of big data. The tools have impressive functionality and earlier this year they invested in a UX/UI designer to join the business and progress the usability and creativity of its interface. With two new product launches on the horizon we’re looking for another UX/UI Designer to join the team.

What you’ll be doing

Joining the existing UX/UI Designer and working collaboratively with the development team you will design user interfaces end to end. As a small UX and visual team your job will be multidisciplinary; you’ll work from wireframes, through to prototypes where needed and finally high fidelity visual designs. Currently research and user testing processes are in their infancy here but as the team grows and processes become more established they will be increasing time spent on these practices.

The team take an iterative approach to design so you’ll always be pushing the product suite forward with each release. You’ll contribute towards the overall design language including typography, iconography and interaction design.

The business has already grown considerably this year so a great time to get through the door early and be a big part of their success moving forwards.

What experience you’ll need to apply

  • An expert within the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • A portfolio of visual designs across web, app or similar.
  • User centred in your approach.
  • Experience of Sketch or similar.
  • Ability to wireframe and prototype your designs.
  • Strong communicator, proven ability to collaborate with development teams.

What you’ll get in return for your experience

This start-up invests in its people so you can be sure of a solid work / life balance, a collaborative culture from the ground up, a pool table, companywide health and wellbeing incentives, regular social events and beautifully fitted offices. You’ll receive a company pension, 25 days holiday (+bank holidays) and private healthcare too. Outside of the benefits listed this is a truly exciting time to join a passionate team with ambitious growth plans.
