Front-End Developer

— Part remote working, chance to become full-stack.

A start-up near Cirencester who are already the leader in their new and ‘essential’ market are going to be impacting the world with their digital tools that enable and secure some major data. Their patented technology will position them with a huge offering, which brings a need for front-end developers to play a vital part in creating their exciting digital products.

What you’ll need

  • Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript is essential.
  • Usage of a JS framework such as React, Angular, Vue etc.
  • Any work with React Native would be a major bonus.
  • You will have worked with API’s.
  • Version control (Git).
  • Ideally some use of Grunt, npm, Jenkins.
  • AWS would be nice to have.
  • Agile experience.
  • It would be beneficial but not important to have done some work with PHP and/or mobile (Android/iOS).
  • A passion for technology and interest in self-learning

What you’ll be doing

As a front-end developer you will be working with React Native and other front-end technologies alongside back-end developers and other members of the tech team to create fresh and exciting applications with around 20 products in the pipeline. Working across a stack of applications you will craft a consistent and compelling experience for all users around the world; you will contribute to the design, planning and implementation of new application features. Whilst you work with innovative leaders you will bring ideas to the table and drive the best technologies and modern practice into the business in order to create the best engineering on offer. You will have lots of support along the way; this team will play a pivotal part of the business so you will be well backed along the way.

As outlined above this is a crucial team to the company, so if you work hard and achieve good results you will be heavily rewarded. The salary is flexible on experience (£30K-£55K) with the need for various levels of developers. On top of the salary you will get 25 days holiday (which can increase), flexi hours and some remote working (1-3 days depending on capability), pension, on-site parking and the chance to upskill/train/attend conferences working with great tech working with great people on something huge.

It’s not essential that you have a vast history of commercial experience, but you must be able to demonstrate projects and examples of work/code, have a passion for good UI and be driven. What skills you’ll be needing HTML, CSS + Sass. ARIA JavaScript ES5 (web browser interactions). Any framework experience would be beneficial (React, Angular, Vue etc.) JSON-LD Schema. HTML Microdata. You will make sure deadlines are hit and ensure that the code base is well structured, modular and efficient. The UI will be seamless and you will be dedicated to its construction/maintenance. It’s up to you to challenge bad ideas, they want your input so feel free to suggest emerging and exciting technologies you think are good.
