People Manager

An opportunity to join an exciting commercial biotech, big on diversity and inclusion, offering market leading science within an emerging sector. In line with growth, they are looking for a People Manager to manage day-day activities and the people strategy, to ensure the company has a brilliant culture and ethos. This is a newly formed role and would suit someone with either experience as a People manager, or has the drive and ambition to step into the role, using creativity and passion.

What you’ll be doing

  • Help develop a people strategy for the business and manage resource requirements as the company looks to expand.
  • Asses training needs, and aid the development of staff through consultation with managers.
  • Ensure the company values are met for recruitment and incorporate the culture fully.
  • Provide support, guidance, and advice to managers on all aspects of HR including policies, procedures, performance management, capability, absence, disciplinary and grievance.
  • Advise on pay, benefits and other remuneration and undertake regular benchmarking activities.
  • Act as a mentor to the leadership team on people management and drive forward wellbeing initiatives.

What experience you’ll need to apply?

  • Currently working as a People Manager or ready to step into the role, having shown proven competencies in a similar position.
  • CIPD qualified, preferably Chartered.
  • Proven management skills, able to coach, motive and inspire others, especially managers.
  • Strong employment law knowledge and have managed a caseload covering disciplinary, grievance, absence, and capability.
  • Passionate about diversity and inclusion, and the environment to aid create a low carbon and sustainable business.
