An award-winning software house is looking for a number of Graduate/Junior Technical Engineers to join their team in Southampton after recent expansion. They’ve built a product which is based on employee engagement & analytics, focusing on tapping into employee experience and comparing how different teams collaborate and reward themselves. Having set up over 10 years ago and now employing over 170 people, the business work with a varied client base of small and large businesses spread across the retail, telecoms and financial sectors, plus many more.  This is the perfect role for someone looking to begin or build upon a career in IT (support, web development, testing and more).

What skills you'll need

  • Understanding of SQL.
  • Coding experience with C#.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access.
  • Strong numeric skills and key eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with an abillity to work under pressure. 
  • Multi-tasking / time-management
  • Ability to work as part of a team

What you'll be doing 

You’ll be joining a collaborative tech team at their offices in central Southampton. Working in a tight knit team you’ll support the implementation and configuration of an award-winning platform (as well as helping to add new features), often working across multiple projects concurrently. It’s a varied and exciting role with no two days the same. Your typical working week could include; attending project meetings with colleagues or clients as required, unit testing completed work (don't worry, full training will be provided), peer reviewing colleagues’ work, reviewing technical specifications and working with consultants to resolve queries, working with their Data Services team to produce payroll and provider reports.

Skilled in logging/monitoring tools like Stackify, AppVeyor or similar. Ability to configure CI/CD pipelines using things like Octopus, CircleCI or similar.  Significant understanding of Windows OS & system administration. Linux would be a bonus.  Knowledge of installs, configs & maintenance (SSL/TLS).  Source control (Git), Web Server Admin (IIS), DNS. Awareness of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) & managed service providers such as Rackspace would be beneficial. What you’ll be doing  Joining a cross-functional product engineering team you will own the provision of operational support across the business’ product suite, acting as an SME for all aspects of the platform. Your day-to-day will include ticket handling & service-level escalations, stakeholder engagement to ensure defects meet SLAs as well as managing comms around defects via workflow management tools like JIRA/Teams/Zendesk. Your solution offering will cover automation, debugging & collaboration with other teams in product engineering, meaning technical aptitude & communication is key.
