Chemist (Technician)

This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing company at the forefront of converting non-recyclable “End-of-Life” plastics waste into high grade oils, to make clean recycled plastics. Aiming to significantly aid the global plastic problem, and to become world leaders in chemical recycling.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop an understanding of endof-life plastic pyrolysis and the related waste management.
  • Undertake pyrolysis experiments on the laboratory/pilot scale and characterise the resulting products.
  • Analyse and interpret the data obtained.
  • Support, and be responsible for after training, the dayto-day running of individual research projects.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations with respect to work undertaken.
  • Prepare reports and communicate research findings.
  • assist in maintaining and updating product characterisation databases.
  • Work collaboratively, contributing new ideas for new research and enterprise projects.
  • Assist in the continual technical development and rollout of the client’s technology on a global scale. This may involve global travel and collaboration with other stakeholders on occasion.

What experience you’ll need to apply:


  • A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science, or relevant industrial experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience within an analytical or synthetic laboratory setting.
  • Knowledge of GCMS operation and related data processing.
  • Enthusiasm and aptitude to join a growing team and expand practical and theoretical knowledge.
  • Ability to timemanage effectively when working on several different tasks.
  • Excellent maths and IT skills.
  • Strong communicative skills with excellent standard of oral and written English.
  • Selfmotivated and driven.
  • Ability to travel if required.

  • Experience working with air sensitive materials and/or high temperature reactions.
  • Knowledge of experience with Swagelok compression fittings and/or operation of an autoclave.
  • Full clean EU driving license.
