Engineering Lead

— Front-End Lead - JavaScript & React

We are partnering with one of the most incredible B-Corps, with offices in London & the USA. Whilst they have some of the buzziest offices in London (so you might want to be in the office the majority of the time) remote working also works as long as you are based in the UK. This constantly evolving InsurTech is looking for an experienced Lead Front-End Developer, to manage one other Senior Engineer and to guide the business through changes across their front end. You will be working closely with the CTO, Director of UX and all cross-functional teams to guide the front-end development.  

What experience you will need to apply 


  • Experience of leading a small front-end team, whilst remaining hands on 
  • Strong programming skills within JavaScript & React 
  • Experience within a full stack capacity currently or previously 
  • A keen eye for detail, including UX & UI design 
  • The desire to challenge. This is an open business that is looking for innovators and individuals who want to challenge themselves, as well as the company. 
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills and strong desire to liaise closely with business teams
  • An advocate of engineering best practices

What you’ll be doing

  • You will be promoting and driving change on the front-end, collaborating with designers, senior tech leads and product. 
  • The first major project you will be working on will be to revamp the entire front end across all areas of the business, including customer journey, market reach, customer engagement and client relationships. 
  • You will also work with the US team as their ambitious plans to expand the product within the US market moves forwards. 
  • You will work with cross-functional, collaborative teams to drive out requirements, highlight risks and prioritise stories. 
  • Work with team members to identify areas for learning and helping them grow in these areas via project work, external learning, or additional mentoring
  • Being hands on in developing our products using best practices, and appropriate tools and technologies
  • Championing agile methodologies 
  • Highlighting areas for continuous improvement and driving their prioritization
  • Being proactive in suggesting new tools, technologies, and ways of working
