Do you want to work for one of the UK's leading Animation Studios? Then look no further, they are looking to welcome a Senior Systems Administrator to their team to support them in delivering their projects and solutions. 

As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will be working primarily with the Head of IT and one other Systems Administrator. You’ll also work with the 2D & 3D pipeline teams and the IT Support team.

What you'll be doing:

Your primary focus will be to complete a diverse range of projects. These projects will improve platforms, security and user experience. This role will involve troubleshooting, documentation, and sharing and transferring knowledge. 

Day-to-day you will be working on the following - 

• Project planning in conjunction with the Head of IT.
• Schedule changes appropriately and provide daily updates on the progress
• Lead security audits and plan remediation of issues found.
• Provide advice and planning to bring systems in line with best practice.
• Support the team with advanced troubleshooting when required.
• Share knowledge of changes, steps taken etc.
• Endeavour to constantly be aware of, and minimise, energy use and carbon footprint, to help the studio reach our goal of carbon neutrality by 2030.
• Always be inclusive and supportive of your colleagues to match the studio’s values of inclusion and opportunity.
• Research into ways to move the studio’s user experience & technology forward

What experience you'll need to apply:

• Worked within animation, VFX or games industry previously.
• Understanding of Active directory & Group policy.
• In depth knowledge of Linux (CentOS and Ubuntu primarily)
• Troubleshooting and configuration of Samba.
• DB Administration and configuration (MySQL/MariaDB/MongoDB) including user management, queries and updates.
• Experience with VMware (ESXi, vcenter)
• Proficient in scripting (Python, Bash, Powershell).
• Confident monitoring systems configuration.
• Ability to instil trust and respect within the team, and provide strong team mentorship to increase productivity.
