Senior Systems Administrator

As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will be working primarily with the Head of IT and one other Systems Administrator. You’ll also work with the 2D & 3D pipeline teams and the IT Support team.
What you'll be doing:
Your primary focus will be to complete a diverse range of projects. These projects will improve platforms, security and user experience. This role will involve troubleshooting, documentation, and sharing and transferring knowledge.
Day-to-day you will be working on the following -
- Project planning in conjunction with the Head of IT.
- Schedule changes appropriately and provide daily updates on the progress
- Lead security audits and plan remediation of issues found.
- Provide advice and planning to bring systems in line with best practice.
- Support the team with advanced troubleshooting when required.
- Share knowledge of changes, steps taken etc.
- Endeavour to constantly be aware of, and minimise, energy use and carbon footprint, to help the studio reach our goal of carbon neutrality by 2030.
- Always be inclusive and supportive of your colleagues to match the studio’s values of inclusion and opportunity.
- Research into ways to move the studio’s user experience & technology forward
- Worked within animation, VFX or games industry previously.
- Understanding of Active directory & Group policy.
- In depth knowledge of Linux (CentOS and Ubuntu primarily)
- Troubleshooting and configuration of Samba.
- DB Administration and configuration (MySQL/MariaDB/MongoDB) including user management, queries and updates.
- Experience with VMware (ESXi, vcenter)
- Proficient in scripting (Python, Bash, Powershell).
- Confident monitoring systems configuration.
- Ability to instil trust and respect within the team, and provide strong team mentorship to increase productivity.
