Description

  • Successful London Based eCommerce Brand
  • Large Team with a Startup Culture
  • Competitive Pay and Benefits

A specialist furniture retailer in central London is on the lookout for a talented Data Scientist to join the team on a permanent basis. This business was founded in 2014, where as a team of 2 they have grown to 80 people! Boasting a turnover of over £28m last year, they are seeing over 130% growth year on year! With the huge amounts of customer data they now have, and following some serious investment into their data infrastructure and marketing analytics, they are now looking for a Data Scientist to take things to the next level.

What you’ll be doing

80% of this organisation’s transactions come from the eCommerce site, which results in a huge amount of data being gathered from the website and social channels. In this role, the business is looking to deploy the most appropriate modelling techniques to predict sales, demand planning, as well as general reporting. In addition to this, you’ll implement pricing and promotion strategies using statistical modelling in either R or Python. There will also be a large element of marketing analytics where the business would like to set up attribution modelling. If you come from a customer data background, this is highly advantageous. The onus of this role is to implement more autonomous forecasting to save time and to produce faster, more real-time reporting. As well as this, you'll continually develop new ways of advancing data capture and storage, and performance metrics.

What experience you’ll need to apply for the role

  • Demonstrable experience within a data science role
  • Experience with at least one programming language (e.g. R or Python)
  • The ability to deploy machine learning models
  • An understanding of digital marketing is advantageous
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience working in a commercial setting
  • A background in mathematics/physics/economics/computer science/statistics

What you’ll get in return for your experience

You’ll be rewarded with a generous salary, as well as a number of benefits such as pension, gym membership, heavily discounted and free products, and the opportunity to work with an amazing team!
