Junior Scientist - Cell Biology

This is an opportunity to join an exciting drug discovery innovator, offering market leading science and ambitious plans. In line with growth, they are seeking a focussed Cell Biologist to join the team. This role might suit a recent graduate, or someone who has completed a placement or internship in Cell Biology, and are looking for a fast-paced company to grow and evolve in.

What you’ll be doing:

Based at their in-house London wet lab, you will culture and analyse a variety of mammalian cell lines, helping design and implement cell-based assays for a variety of projects. You will also be actively involved in the generation of recombinant cell lines and perform potency assays to rank candidate protein sequences, working closely with automation teams to develop highly reliable, reproducible, high-throughput workflows.

What experience you’ll need to apply?

  • Strong mammalian cell experience.
  • Cell Analysis experience such as Flow cytometry or Microscopy.
  • Successfully completed an independent AND team project encompassing cell biology e.g. during and MSc or internship.
  • Good academic performance - BSc or MSc in a Biology related field.
  • Used to troubleshooting and optimising cell-based assays.
  • Good cell biology Lab experience with a sound understanding of the requirements of different cell lines for different purposes.
  • A collaborative team player, happy to work on execution just as much as R&D.
  • Keen to learn and able to work in a fast-changing environment, whilst being a nice person at the same time (really important!).

  • T-Cell isolation
  • Flow cytometry
  • Western Blot
  • Whole blood
