Bioinformatics Scientist

This is an opportunity to join a global start-up company within the neurodegeneration translational biomarkers and bioanalysis space. The Bioinformatician role will bring knowledge and experience within the mass spectrometry analysis (QqQ) space also contributing to mass spec method development where possible. This role will report directly to the CSO gaining amazing experience in a truly novel field whilst having the freedom to work remotely and manage large international projects.

What you'll be doing:

• Analysing LC-MS/MS data, curating and delivering reports directly to clients.
• Liaising with Senior Scientists and bioanalysis team to deliver the projects to agreed timelines and budgets.
• Contributing to grant and patent applications and scientific publications.
• Potential for contribution to method development for translational biomarker tests developing analytical mass spec protocol for implementation by the lab team.

What experience you will need to apply:

• PhD or equivalent experience in bioinformatics, Computational Biology, analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry or related discipline.
• Substantial, hands-on industry and/or academic experience with LC-MS/MS platforms, ideally including triple quadrupole mass spectrometry systems.
• Self-starting experience of data generation and data analysis of multiple projects.
• Experience in targeted proteomics, lipidomics and/or metabolomics is highly desirable.
• Publication record within the biomarker and bioanalysis field.
• Prior knowledge or experience within LC-MS/MS in the context of neurodegeneration research is an advantage.

Salary £45,000 – £65,000 depending on experience. Generous pension. EMI options. Private Medical Insurance.

Offices based in London but remote work options available – just travel to London twice per month.
