Head of Content / Content Strategist

We’re looking for an experienced Head of Content / Content Strategist to join an established SAAS business with ambitious growth plans. They’ve got a respected, “human” feeling brand and a great product, with subscribers all over the globe. They’re on a huge growth trajectory and this is a pivotal role for the business, working alongside the Head of Marketing to help drive brand awareness, quality leads, and ultimately to win new customers.

This role can be fully remote and based anywhere in the world as long as you have a minimum of 4 hours overlap with UK office hours. Most of the team are based in the UK, Europe and a few further afield.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own the Content Strategy for the business - plan, write, and publish marketing content of various types, including feature launch communications, blog posts, emails, web pages, in-app messages, and more.
  • Work with SEO to ensure your content is fully optimised.
  • Partner closely with Head of Marketing and external agencies to ideate, build and execute a content roadmap to support overall marketing goals.
  • Own and apply brand tone of voice to product marketing content (not just copy, but images and video too)
  • Review, edit, and improve content written by others.
  • Interview subject matter experts and conduct research to develop relevant and useful content.
  • Improve and optimise existing content based on search performance metrics.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of their content and measure what works and what doesn’t.

What experience you’ll need to apply


  • Experience in a Head of Content or similar role, owning the Content Strategy for a SAAS business.
  • Experience owning or devising tone of voice for a Tech business/SAAS with a “human-to-human” feel to the brand (they’re a B2B SAAS business that feels like a B2C brand).
  • Excellent hands-on written skills, ability to partner with the right designers and content producers to create industry-leading content that is on brand and effectively drives engagement, and helps generate leads in conjunction with the Head of Marketing who’ll be responsible for driving the lead generation strategy via HubSpot.
  • Strong background in SEO and able to analyse and use insights to inform strategic thinking.
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies, project management software, and productivity tools would be beneficial.
  • Any prior knowledge or experience with HubSpot, Drip or comparable Marketing Automation tools would be highly desirable but isn’t essential.
  • If you can talk about lead magnets and email sales funnels then even better!
