We are working with an amazing Biotech in London to help them scale their Engineering team over the next 12 months. There is currently a team of 16 Engineers although this will grow over the coming months.

The organisation is building a platform, powered by machine learning, for the purpose of developing novel protein therapeutics that will enable them to bring life changing medicines to market in vastly more efficient ways than conventional pharma companies. 

What you’ll be doing 

As part of their growth the business is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong problem-solving abilities and a deep understanding of Software Engineering Best Practice to help bridge the gap between the Head of Engineering and the Engineering team, acting as a mentor and demonstrating leadership qualities to support the team.

You will be working in a collaborative and solution driven environment to design, build and add new features to existing systems that serve biologists and data scientists. The primary tech-stack is Python, Flask, JavaScript and React although a mentality of ‘using the right tool for the job’ is important.

What experience you’ll need to apply

  • A solid background in developing great software within a cross-functional product team. 
  • Experience with JavaScript and Python in a production environment.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS. 
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with specialists from your own and other fields. 
  • Strong mentorship skills and leadership qualities.
  • Eagerness to learn about molecular biology to be more effective in your job.
