I’m working with a market-leading Ed-Tech company whose product is used in over 11,000 schools and academies across 200 local authorities in the UK and has revolutionised their domain. Over the last 20 years the company have been on a mission to spearhead progress and innovation in schools, helping to streamline their operations and transform communication between schools, students, and parents. They currently have two cross-functional scrum teams and are building out a third to support their growth. As part of this they are looking for multiple hires including a mid-level Developer role. 

What you’ll be doing

Joining a scrum team of 6-8 Developers/Testers alongside BA’s and Designers, you’ll be involved in end-to-end project work that includes a mix of legacy product development and brand-new systems. The role is full-stack but heavily server-side focused with 80% of your time spent on back-end code, but also exposing you to front-end UIs and API development. You’ll be surrounded by a supportive team and enjoy developing new skills; they’ll set time aside as part of your sprint planning to work towards professional certifications.

What experience you’ll need to apply 

  • Proven background in C#.Net (they use. Net4.5+ and .Net Core). 
  • Full-Stack skills but with a tendency towards the server-side. 
  • Well-versed in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery. A modern library like Angular/React would be ideal. 
  • Skilled in WebAPI / WebServices / WebForms. 
  • Comfortable navigating SQL Server and SQL databases.
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio & ReSharper or similar. 
  • Cloud-based development expertise, preferably Azure. 
  • Ability to undertake unit & integration tests would be useful. 
  • Happy working Agile with regular sprints. 
  • Any knowledge of TeamCity or similar for CI would be desirable.
