Front-End Developer (Angular)

— Visit live sporting events to see your work come to life!

Location:
Malvern
Type:
Salary:
£30K - £40K
  • Broadcast/Graphics specialist into live sports & entertainment.
  • Employee-owned business with international trips to live sporting events.
  • Big focus on R&D with new & emerging tech constantly being integrated.

I’m helping a creative software media company to find a Front-End Engineer to join their Malvern-based team. The business specialise in providing broadcast graphics solutions to televised sports and live entertainment events, with their work being seen by viewers and fans across the globe. They work with a prestigious client base of TV productions which includes The Ryder Cup, Euroleague Basketball and more.

What experience you’ll need

  • Proven front-end capability, skilled in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Experience with Angular (v2-11) and TypeScript, or a willingness to learn them.
  • Knowledge of data-driven applications, HTTP API route integrations.
  • Real-time web application development experience would be preferred.
  • Understanding of MS SQL, NoSQL and/or MongoDB.
  • Awareness of UI/UX design principles.
  • Any knowledge of server-side development, preferably NodeJS, would be beneficial.

What you’ll be doing

The digital team is made up of five Developers and a Designer which you’ll embed into. Your focus will vary between production and R&D applications, developing real-time web apps with a focus on front-end and UI, occasionally delving into the server-side when interacting with hardware elements of their service offering. They have a variety of systems using different tech; some are on earlier versions of Angular whereas some are using the latest release. Most apps are data-driven and involve working on websockets/socket.io/signalR so you’ll need to be comfortable with this. You’ll have the chance to see the work you produce come to life as it will be used in live TV productions across the world. You’ll even have the chance to travel to these live sporting events internationally so you can see your creations working in person!

What you’ll get in return for your talents

As an employee-owned business, you know your personal progression is in their best interest and R&D is engrained into everything they do (believe me, I work for one!). They take their employees on international trips to the live sporting events they’ve helped put together with optional opportunity for extended stays post-events. You get a laptop/phone for travelling, private healthcare, travel insurance, healthy pension scheme, life assurance, flexi-time and 22 days hol + bank hols which increases with years of service. They’re mainly office-based due to the on-site support of clients and interaction with hardware, but are happy for you to work from home 2-3 days a week when you’re not needed in. A really unique opportunity here!

    Location:
Full Remote OR Malvern OR Bristol
    Type:
    Salary:

Their products are used by Scientists and Engineers in a wide range of industries including healthcare, pharma, automotive, environmental and more. With a diverse project roadmap and rapid growth plans in place for 2021/22, this is a unique opportunity for a dedicated Lead Tester to work on rewarding projects that solve real-life challenges through the use of tech. What experience you’ll need Proven experience in automation test strategy and technical leadership.  Hands-on experience across manual & automated testing.  Exposure to automation tools like Selenium, Ranorex, SpecFlow, Cucumber or similar. Ability to test SAP/Salesforce system integrations (or similar) is desirable.  Significant knowledge of regression testing.  Some programming experience (C#/.Net, Java etc.) would be useful.  Skilled in testing a range of legacy and modern systems.  Knowledge of things like TFS, Visual Studio, MS Test Manager etc.  Agile/Scrum methodology knowledge.  Experience in 3rd party engagement.  What you’ll be doing This role sits in the team that develop the business’ internal systems which uses SAP / Salesforce primarily. The role will initially be a mixture of hands-on and strategic work, but as the team grows you’ll evolve into a more operational role to focus on future improvements, technical leadership and general best practice across the wider function. The Salesforce testing is quite straight forward but the SAP side is more complex due to the volume of business scenarios running through it, so it’s likely this will take up most of your focus in the immediate.
