An innovative cyber security business in Oxfordshire is looking for a Lead Developer to join their expanding team on a fully remote basis (aside from monthly/bi-monthly meetings onsite in Oxfordshire) and work on the company’s ground-breaking product. Their product focusses on a suite of educational cyber security tools used by major programmes worldwide and has seen huge success already, with nearly 300,000 users and growing. As a Senior Developer you’ll be key to taking the business into the next phase of their exciting product roadmap throughout 2020 and beyond.
What skills you’ll need
- Significant development experience with proven background in PHP. Knowledge of other server-side languages is a plus.
- Experience working with Symfony.
- Excellent knowledge of design patterns (OOP, DDD, BDD & TDD) and principles (SOLID & DRY).
- An understanding of DevOps principles. Previous experience setting up CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong working knowledge of AWS.
- Understanding of test best practices using PHPUnit and Behat.
What you’ll be doing
As the Lead Developer you will work alongside the other Engineers and Technical Leader to deliver secure and scalable solutions for the back-end of their core product. You will play an integral role on a variety of business-critical projects including the migration of their product suite to Symfony with AWS and microservices architecture. Working closely with the DevOps team to maintain the CI/CD pipelines you’ll be an advocate for TDD/DevOps approaches. Adhering to coding best practices you will be required to undertake code & architecture reviews and share your technical expertise with the wider team. With new & emerging tech being incorporated on a regular basis this is a role with great variety and scope for progression.
