    UI Developer

    — CyberSec business with awesome product

    Location:
    Remote (Occasional Oxford trip)
    Type:
    Salary:
    £30K - £50K
100% remote working, even after restrictions lift. Varied role encompassing Development, UX and Product Design. Brand-new product team with lots of autonomy. An innovative cyber security business in Oxfordshire is looking for a UI Developer to join their expanding team on a fully remote basis (aside from occasional meetings onsite in Oxfordshire) and in a brand-new product team created this year. Their product focuses on a suite of educational cyber security tools used by major programmes worldwide and has seen huge success already, with nearly 300,000 users and growing. As a UI Developer in a small (but growing) team you’ll be key to taking the business into the next phase of their exciting product roadmap throughout 2021 and beyond. What skills you’ll need Proven front-end development skills using HTML, (S)CSS and vanilla JavaScript.  Exposure to at least one modern JavaScript library (React, Vue preferred).  Experience in building functional interfaces, skilled in responsive design and accessibility.  Flair for UI/UX, ideally coming from a design background, or offering design expertise.  Ability to work closely with Product Managers and Designers to produce UI components. Product-driven mentality with a passion for front-end architecture.  What you’ll be doing This is a brand-new team with government backing, focused on an educational retail product that links into their existing products and services. Working alongside the Product Designer, you’ll liaise with other Designers to produce functional user interfaces across the product and their marketing sites, taking the lead on all front-end architectural decisions with lots of autonomy and control over technical direction. This role acts as a hybrid between development and product design, so whilst your day-to-day will be more dev-focused, the reality is that you’ll need to bring your UI/UX design skills with you as well as carrying a product-driven mentality to everything you produce. As the team grows there will be chance to progress into a lead role, though it’s integral that all code you produce is reusable and maintainable for other juniors joining later down the line. What you’ll get in return for your talents This is the chance to join a highly successful, cyber security business with a global reach. You’ll be part of a team that’s on the company’s cutting edge, with the chance to play with new tech and test new ideas. You’ll be offered 28 days holiday, competitive pension scheme, private healthcare, flexitime, a sociable and enjoyable working environment with regular team socials (when they’re allowed again!).
