We’re looking for a UX Designer to join a well-established tech brand investing in the improvement of their design and product offering. This role will be focussed on applying UX practices to develop the functionality of an existing suite of products. The business is extremely flexible in their approach to remote working, with ideally one day a week based in their Oxfordshire HQ.

What you’ll be doing

Like many other industries, education has seen phenomenal change over the last couple of years. Investment in digital and digital literacy within the sector is on the increase and with it comes the opportunity to innovate and create exciting new tools that will change the face of education for good.

Reporting into the Head of Product and working closely with the Senior Product Manager, you’ll be focussing on a key suite of products that includes a range of school management tools for desktop and mobile. You’ll bring holistic UX skills to put into practice, developing functionality by making iterative improvements to the usability of each product.

As a UX Designer you’ll be conducting research, creating user journeys, moving through prototypes and wireframes then testing these with users. You’ll then collaborate with others on the build and UI design.

You’ll be joining the business at a time of serious investment in product and design. Design maturity overall is just getting started but you’ll find a senior team that are driving this change across the business and colleagues that come from diverse backgrounds when it comes to design and product thinking.

The culture of the business is great, you’ll be working with a genuinely friendly and caring team in an environment that’s full of ambition but not high pressure.

What experience you’ll need

  • Previous experience within a UX Design role.
  • User centred in your approach; obsessed with data and user feedback.
  • Have experience of working within cross functional product teams.
  • Confident facilitating user research and testing.
  • Able to produce wireframes and prototypes collaborating with developers and visual designers on delivery.
  • Ideally some knowledge of improving legacy products.

What you’ll get in return

Alongside a salary of up to £45k, you’ll join a lovely team that respects individual ways of working and offers genuine flexibility. You’ll receive a performance related bonus, private medical cover, life assurance and a group personal pension plan. Also, extra benefits like buying additional holiday, adding dental cover and more.

What’s next?

Please apply with an up-to-date CV and a portfolio of work that demonstrates your design experience and thinking.
