A brand-new start-up in the Trowbridge/Bradford-Upon-Avon area who have created a market-leading and intuitive property-tech platform are looking for Back-End Tech Lead (Node.js).  Having doubled in sized so far through the pandemic, they're well positioned to continue growing at pace with new client wins and outstanding new features added.

*Happy for you to be fully remote now and after Covid, popping over once every few weeks for any important meetings*

Experience you’ll need

  • NodeJS experience is essential.
  • ES5/ES6.
  • Good experience leading and nurturing a development team
  • Strong experience working with Express and Socket IO
  • RESTful API's
  • NodeJS with Redis, MySql and MongoDB
  • Good experience of TDD principles and Unit testing
  • Exposure to Git flow or similar
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of the NodeJS architecture and limitations
  • Experience working in cloud environments

What you’ll be doing

You will be joining a growing team working alongside experienced developers to develop and grow the next generation of smart building technology, powering a market leading, user focused products. A key part to the role will be to develop, test and maintain backend API’s and select the right tools and languages to ensure a high quality of product. They’re keen to find someone who can think strategically and is passionate when explaining and demonstrating the product to new clients.  With a tech team of 10 onboard so far they’re looking for a Tech Lead to help them grow and develop a small team of back-end engineers.  You’ll help to ensure a high level of quality when it comes to coding standards and take ownership of the back-end of the product suite.  You will be called upon to research and evaluate appropriate tech for the product beyond the existing stack and your ideas are very much valued.  This is an incredibly exciting product already being used by some very well-known customers so expect a fun and rewarding ride!
