If you are passionate about Net Zero and have a background in the development of energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects, this is the role for you!
This is a highly varied position which includes communicating with blue-chip clients to identify priority decarbonisation areas, supporting them through the creation of a Net Zero strategy, and supporting carbon transition plans. Ultimately, you will be helping a range of clients on their sustainability journey and working alongside a diverse and motivated team of experts within the green energy, transport, waste, built environment, and biodiversity sectors.

This is a highly varied position which includes communicating with blue-chip clients to identify priority decarbonisation areas, supporting them through the creation of a Net Zero strategy, and supporting carbon transition plans. Ultimately, you will be helping a range of clients on their sustainability journey and working alongside a diverse and motivated team of experts within the green energy, transport, waste, built environment, and biodiversity sectors.
What you’ll be doing:
This role will be perfect for you, if you have a desire to:
- Carry out in-depth energy surveys and produce supporting calculations, reports, and proposals. You will have the ability to pre-select the most suitable sites for survey and target improvement strategies. You will prepare detailed site-specific solutions where principles are suitable for deployment across a larger estate. Specifics will include plans, timings, reports, project proposals etc.
- Provide technical depth to support project development from report recommendations through to viable solutions at a concept design stage.
- Utilise your experience of feasibility studies and feasibility options to progress projects to design stages and beyond, developing and implementing new cost saving and/or energy opportunities. This would include identifying new areas for business growth such as ECM’s (Energy Conservation Measures).
- Provide guidance and support for business development opportunities, maintain a proactive interest in new and emerging decarbonisation technologies and products.
- Maintain records and evidence for audit/accreditation compliance for energy performance contracts.
- Engage and collaborate with cross-sectoral teams to support knowledge growth and promote best practice across the board.
What experience you’ll need to apply:
The successful candidate will need:
- A degree or equivalent experience within a relevant field, such as engineering, or the energy industry.
- Proven industry experience with a background in M&E (Mechanical and Engineering) Building Services and relevant formal technical qualifications.
- Experience of carrying out detailed options appraisals and feasibility studies to support project advancement from design to viable solutions.
- Computer literacy, alongside good communication and presentation skills.
- A professional manner, being happy to work as an ambassador for the business and represent them to clients and relevant stakeholders.
- To be able to manage and motivate team members with cross-functional relationships, showing leadership skills and taking ownership of deliver against targets.
- Be competent with both client and company H&S standards.
- A commercial mindset, being able to put forward strong business cases with the ability to influence, in addition to a financial awareness and time/budget expectation management skills.
