PHP Developer

— leading conservation charity, 100% remote

A leading conservation charity is looking for a talented PHP Developer to join them on a fully remote working basis. They do some really important work tackling conservation and ecological issues and have recently received funding to relaunch their website and make an even bigger impact. They now need a developer to come in and take ownership of their existing online platform keeping it functional as they ready themselves for the relaunch. This role is initially on a 12 month fixed term basis however you will have the opportunity to play an active role in the relaunch with the possibility of going perm at the end of the contract.

What skills you’ll need

  • Proven background in PHP software development.
  • Experience using at least one MVC framework such as Symfony or Laravel.
  • An ability to deliver complex database driven websites.
  • Strong working knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Good understanding of databases & SQL scripting.
  • Experience with the LAMP stack and Linux server administration.

What you’ll be doing

Joining their in-house development team your focus will be to keep the charity operational in the run up to their large-scale website relaunch by maintaining and continuing to develop their current online platform. They have recently adopted a new CRM, and so you will be responsible for integrating the existing website and databases.  Working closely with the Digital Lead, you’ll manage the deployment of new software and updates, integrations with internal & 3rd party applications and Linux server administration. Further, you will play an active role in the shaping the website relaunch, lending your expertise to help inform technical decisions.
