Hardware Engineer

A rapidly growing med-tech start-up in Berkshire works on revolutionizing not only Optical care, but also chronic health conditions such as Alzheimer and Diabetes. They are seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer with previous experience in medical devices or related embedded applications.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Taking ownership of hardware development of both ARM based devices and PIC microcontrollers.
  • Collaborating with other Team members and defining hardware design requirements.
  • Leading the designs from concept to the manufacture.
  • Generating project related information; PCB drawings, Flow Diagrams, and other required specifications.
  • Assisting with electronic platform specifications; debugging, verification and validation.
  • Taking part in multiple projects for different healthcare sectors.


What experience you will need to apply:

  • A degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent. Knowledge in Photonics or Optics highly beneficial.
  • Experience in hardware development within a medical related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, including mathematics.
  • Experience with multilayer PCBAs schematics and layout – 6 layers
  • Previous design of digital and analogue low noise electronics.
  • Signal Speed Experience – Routing in the range of 100Ghz or more.
  • Proficiency in CAD Software or equivalent.
  • Experience of full design cycle – from design, to manufacturing and production.
  • Working within a managed quality framework is essential.
  • Previous use of FPGAs and VHDL/Verilog would be beneficial.
