We’ve teamed up with a leading innovator in technology consultancy as they look to grow their delivery offering across the South Wales region. We’re looking for adaptable Test Engineers who enjoy variety and are comfortable using the right tools for the task at hand. Technology agnosticism is preferred but if you specialise in something specific and would like to push your tech exposure further, this could be the place for you. 

Boasting a diverse client base of household names, public sector giants, financial services specialists, large-scale retailers, charitable organisations and much more, the business offers an international reach allowing you to diversify your skill set whilst working on some of the most progressive large-scale projects around. They’re delivery focused and their reputation brings lots of repeat clients and longstanding relationships. 

We’re considering people from mid to lead level hence the wider salary range. The role offers hybrid working but varies depending on the project you’re on; they’re remote friendly and very adaptable with working arrangements. 

What skills you’ll need

  • Proven testing experience across at least one of the following; Python, C#, Java, Scala, JavaScript, Go. Any coding experience would be useful. 
  • Adaptable, curious and technology agnostic with a solid understanding of test engineering principles across both manual and automation.
  • Ability to build a test framework from scratch, ideally fully automated. 
  • Skilled in automated test engineering across a range of projects, not just UI and API. 
  • Ability to test a secure cloud platform to reduce the build time of new environments would be preferred. 
  • Advocate for best practice, clear documentation and concise communication with other departments. 
  • Comfortable working Agile/Scrum.

You'll be joining a dynamic delivery team in Cardiff or Swansea, focused on testing both greenfield & ongoing solutions with lots of variety. You’ll enjoy being pragmatic and curious about technology, using the right tool for the job and being adaptable to learn something new if it supports the wider delivery / testing approach. You won’t be tied to a specific environment although your strengths will be utilised. Project examples include huge cloud transformation programmes, AI-driven healthcare software, public sector platforms with multi-million users, scalable web apps and much more.
