Front-End Developer

— Rapidly expanding digital agency

Salary: £24K - £30K
Location: Cardiff
Type: Permanent
Ref: 8871

Description

  • Excellent internal & external training and career progression opportunities.
  • Working on a variety of client brands as well as internal technology products.
  • Broad range of technology and exposure to high-quality bespoke software.
I’m currently helping an established digital technology & marketing agency in Cardiff to find a Front-End Developer to join their team. Created in 2015, the business focuses on two core areas, bespoke web applications and online booking systems. They have developed award-winning online booking software which has been used across a variety of sectors, including various Premier League football teams, airports, retailers and learning providers. The development team has grown to 6 with plans to expand throughout 2018. They are one of the fastest growing companies in South Wales currently and pride themselves on providing the highest quality solutions at all times.

What experience you'll need

  • You’ll be an established Front-End Developer with c3 years’ commercial experience.
  • Good knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript (jQuery, React, Angular).
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment.
  • Familiarity with test methodologies, coding standards and best practice guidelines.
  • Any understanding of pre-processors (SASS, LESS, Slim etc.) would be beneficial.
  • Significant understanding of C#, .Net and XML would be desirable.
  • An awareness of Ajax, MVC or building SPAs would be good to have as well.
What you'll be doing

Joining a progressive team which is made up of front-end, back-end and two testers, you’ll be developing a breadth of solutions across an international client base of small and large businesses. The work is varied and will include a variety of web development, web applications and bespoke CRM systems, as well as improving the front-end aspect of their own award-winning online booking product using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery) and a bespoke CMS. Some aspects of their product are reasonably simple but others require more complex development, with daily stand-ups and a mixture of two and six week Agile development cycles depending on the project at hand. You will play an integral part in suggesting and implementing new technologies to bring into the business as well.

What you'll get in return for your talents

The business offers a tight-knit, flat structure with all of the team getting involved in regular socials together. On top of a generous salary and a quiet working environment (with headphones permitted so you can get stuck into your work) you will be offered R&D time to find new technologies, a bonus scheme based on personal and company performance, flexible working hours, childcare vouchers and a healthy pension scheme. The offices are located close to public transport links in Cardiff City Centre with free parking onsite, as well as a laid back dress code and awesome career progression opportunities too!
